We love this beach. This was "our" beach--only a few minutes from our house, and the perfect place for playing with kids, once we had Bean. 
I spent a lot of mornings there with her when she was little and am so glad that I can still bring her back to relive our beach bum life. She was always one of the messiest kids on the beach--I have some great photos of her sand-mustache. And now Bugaboo gets to try out all the sand and water play--he was a natural!
We were so glad that our friends were able to meet up with us there. They have twins Bean's age and then a little girl Bugaboo's age and also a 6 month old baby girl. The twins and Bean used to play together a few times a week, at the park for playgroup, beach trips, babysitting swaps, and bonfires at Mission Bay.

Bugaboo was busy the whole afternoon filling things with sand (once he'd eaten all the food that used to be in the containers).
