Property Work

We got a container and dumpster delivered to the property and have been over there working a couple of different days now.

Dumpster just waiting for all the garbage, and there is plenty!

Just a little of the buildings we need to clear.

We've had friends join us--some collecting metal for recycling, some helping to haul all of the things that are filling each building.

And the yard is getting full of stuff.

Lots and lots of stuff.

Some of the coolest finds are the skeletons we're finding around. We have 3 skulls, a jawbone, and a whole carcass of something small. Those are honestly the only things I personally have wanted to keep--it's all so gross that even things that should have been nice aren't anymore. Hoarding is sad--such a waste of space and things.

 

Park Day Pool Style

Got quite a crowd for our park day pool party.

This is always one of our favorite parts of summer--pool time with friends is the best.

And on a hot day, the pool is great. We haven't had a lot of time for swimming this year, but we're making the most of it when we can.

 

Guess What We Did?

Back in May, we bought a house!

Not just any house. . .

Probably the oldest, junkiest house in all of Livermore.

It's truly not liveable,

but that's okay, because behind all of the crumbling buildings, there is a beautiful 1.5 acres of land.

And so much potential! We can't wait to see what we can make of this place. It's going to be a lot of work, but someday, we hope to have our dream home and dream property.

Happy Independence Day

We've got a lot of work to do this summer, but 4th of July meant beach time with friends!

Several families joined us and we had a blast, even if it wasn't very warm--didn't stop the kids from playing in and around the water most of the day.

Daddy-o was able to join us, which doesn't always happen on these holidays, but we love it when he gets to come play, too. It was a fun day and we made it back to Livermore to grill burgers without any traffic, always a bonus!

Swim Fun

First friend day at the pool. The older two kids have been using it for swim lessons already (in fact, we had to delay our swim until after the last swim lesson was done.) 

But with how hot it is, we were ready for a pool day --and then the pool was 91 degrees, haha. Little too hot to be very refreshing. 

The kids were in and out enough to feel okay, and they used the cold shower to cool off. My friend and I got wet and then sat in the shade where the breeze made the 105 degree day feel okay. Going from the mostly cool UK to this hot summer is brutal.
