10 adults, 16 kids, and one 4-legged furry family member for a few days at Huntington Lake (it had been 8 years since we'd been here last!) And we were still missing several of Daddy-o's siblings and their kids.
Cousin line-up--it used to be a straight line from oldest to youngest, but some of these kids have stopped growing and the others are starting to catch up. And see that serious height gap? That would be a combination of one really tall 9 year old, and the fact that there was a big break in kids being born. But I'm so glad that we had another surge so Peanut has plenty of cousins around his age to play with. All the kids have 3 or 4 cousins within a couple years in either direction.
And with this beautiful lake just down the hill,
and a few inflatables, they had hours of fun. It was so fun watching all the ages together out there in the water. Moving back to CA has let our kids get to know their cousins better and they are loving all these interactions. And we're loving watching it.
A few of us went hiking one afternoon
and found this incredible waterfall. Thank you, rainy winter!
Of course there was lots of good food, too.
Bug made us a mountain man breakfast the last morning for one of his cub scout requirements.
We also found these footprints that morning--apparently a bear visited our campsite during the night, just a few feet from out tents! Glad none of us woke up.
And no wonder--Camping is pretty exhausting. This little Peanut fell asleep fast and hard each night. I finally discovered the secret to sleeping while camping and was so grateful for my earplugs, especially the first night when our neighbors decided to party until after 1 a.m.
And now--a photo dump of the rest of the pictures. Love all these kids and its so fun to watch them grow up.
