Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas! Our day was filled with love, presents galore, zoom calls with family, delicious food, sweets, and treats.

Daddy-o went all out on dinner--pot roast, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, glazed carrots, and rolls (well, I helped with those last two).

Because Harry Potter has been such a key part of our year, and we've read and watched half a dozen different versions of A Christmas Carol this month, I got English crackers to go with our sort-of old fashioned dinner.

The crowns, toys, and jokes were fun.

Good day all around. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Folly Beach, SC

Family time at Folly Beach, SC.

4 days in a beach house,

early morning walks,

 boogie boarding,

 collecting specimens,

 finding fun animals,

 playing in the waves,

 digging in the sand,

 playting with the cousin,

catching a ride from an aunt (who is nicer than the rest of us!),

 wandering around Charleston,

(sometimes catching a ride or two),

 showing some love,

and just getting to be together.

Fall Festival

First day of fall was festival time.  This is the second year that Daddy-o was in charge of our church's Fall Festival.  That meant he spent most of the night running around, working, but he took a break for a little while to go on a hayride with us.

The kids got totally sugared up--caramel apples, cotton candy, pumpkin pie. . . once a year :)

This little guy had fun, too.  He just watched everything going on all night with huge eyes.

The night ended with a downpour, but luckily we were able to squeeze into the barn area until it let up enough to load the car and after a second wave, we loaded up 3 tired, happy kids.

Mawwiage. And wuv. Twue wuv.

Here comes the new couple! My baby brother got married yesterday.
It was a very full, very fun day (although also very tiring with 2 little ones who are not used to being shuttled from party to party, photograph session to photograph session, church to church.)
But it was awesome being together as a family
and seeing so many friends and extended family throughout the day.

We missed my dad terribly, but know that he was with us in spirit throughout the day. He would have loved the new addition to the family.
And besides the bride, I think my kids were the most beautiful there--Bean was eating the whole thing up--she LOVED her "wedding dress" and the bride's princess dress and couldn't get enough of the pictures at the reception.
She even made friends with the other "flower girl" and spent most of the evening following her around.Bugaboo, on the other hand, had enough by the evening festivities and refused to be in any of the bridal shots unless Daddy was holding him. Guess you can't expect much more from an almost-17-month old who took 2 naps in the car that day and was approaching bedtime before the party even started.Even though I'm glad we don't have a wedding every weekend, it was a fun day. Gotta love family!
