It doesn't get much better than this. 5 nights on a cruise ship celebrating 10 amazing years with my best friend.
No kids (who we do love madly and missed) to chase around,
Getting dressed up for dinner (I felt so very Downton Abbey dressing for dinner each night),
Way too many desserts (that chocolate melting cake was to die for). And all those meals were eaten without having to do any planning, any jumping up to grab forgotten items for anyone, and without any crying or yelling. 
Other highlights:
80s and 90s music sing alongs,
ice cream available 24/7 (Daddy-o took full advantage of this),
seeing sea turtles off the coast of Florida,
Daddy-o winning 3 trophies and a medal in the first day for random trivia,
knowing that all of the drunk people on board subsidize our cruise, making it a very affordable vacation for us.
And we went down a day early to spend a little time in Charleston, which is easily becoming one of our favorite cities on the east coast. Took a boat tour to Fort Sumter to see where the Civil War began, and wandered around downtown, looking at beatiful houses with porches and window boxes.
We've only had 2 one night trips in the last 5 years without the kids, so this was a very welcome vacation. I just don't ever get to feel like I'm on vacation since my day job comes with me everywhere I go, but I truly enjoyed every second of this trip. And the kids did great with Rara and Uncle D. Peanut slept for them, Bean and Bug made it to all the classes, and everyone was alive and happy when we got back.
Love this every-5-year tradition of a week away, but I'm thinking the 11 year anniversary is a big one, too, right?
