Just when we ran out of house-sitting options, PG&E came through with our electricity and we were able to move in to our new place the next day! The kids' beds were already at the new house along with a couple other pieces of furniture from our last move, and we ordered a new mattress for our room just in time so we all had places to sleep, even if there was still a lot of unpacking to do.
Our pod didn't come for another week, so we were kind of camping out at the house with minimal supplies for a few days, but then settling in started in earnest!
We still have a LOT of work to do--getting rid of e-waste and garbage piles, fencing parts of the property, making a path to our front door that doesn't involve stirring up a ton of dust. . .
But we are finally on site!
